Megathread

Hello and welcome to the so far pretty quiet Dreamwidth megathread offshoot; this post is here to orient anybody interested with what's going on since the Metafilter mods are clarifying USPolitics post guidelines. Most of the contributors from the megathreads went to the #PoliticsSlack; however, there's some small number of people who can't use Slack or don't want to (the Slack for instance can't be viewed unless one is logged in with an account, and only the last 10K messages can be seen), and this space is available for that. Feel free to comment here with any questions you may have!

Here's what you can do whether you have an account or not:

* You can use the community main page to catch up on posts. The current megathread catch all will be the top post; comments can be read either threaded or in flat chronological order.
* I've also been making a daily summary of the comment activity on USPolitics adjacent Metafilter, posted to the main page of the community.
* Anonymous comments are allowed, but they won't let you make clickable links; that's a spam prevention strategy of the platform itself. I try to reply to anonymous comments with links to make clickable versions!

Some of the things you can do with an account:

* Make a post to the main body of the community
* Sign up for email notifications
* Reply to comments using email
* Use your reading page as a feed reader for sites with RSS feeds! Subscribe to this community, or the journals of other MeFites.

If you want to start participating, just find the most recent megathread and make comments on it. You can also reply to other comments!
