US dropped so many balls diplomatically in the past few years so this one barely registers, but still, a noteworthy dropped ball is the US failure to respond, or even really notice, China's economic sanctions against S Korea after the THAAD deployment.
The tweet thread describes the fate of the Korean company Lotte, utterly decimated because it did something China didn't like (at our behest).
In other words, in just two years PRC sanctioned one of the most successful and well-rooted international firms to a point that it is basically withdrawing from the market entirely, losing more than $2B in the process.
This is what's ahead of US companies doing business in PRC.
